Strife Recording New Album?

Yep - It’s True!

Los Angeles based hardcore band, Strife, will be heading down to Brazil next week to start recording a brand new full length record. They have enlisted long time friend, Iggor Cavalera (Sepultura / Cavalera Conspiracy) to play drums on the album. The album is being produced by Terror’s Nick Jett (Take Offense, Lionheart), and will be recorded at Mix Nova Studios in Brazil, and finished at Blood Tracks Studio and Sunset Lodge in Los Angeles. Producer Matt Hyde (Hatebreed/Slayer) will be handling the mastering of the release.

Guitarist, Andrew Kline, said  “This album is going to be our best release yet… We have been working on preproduction tracks for the last few months, and the songs are amazing… This record is more along the lines of “In This Defiance”, but with a harder and a little more modern edge… Plus Iggor’s drumming is really going to take everything to the next level.”

A final release date, label, cover art and additional information will be revealed in the near future.

The Cool Kids Release A New Mixtape

Last time we heard from Chicago hip-hop duo the Cool Kids was a year ago, when they dropped the Gone Fishing mixtape in anticipation of their official debut, When Fish Ride Bicycles. It’s one year later, and there’s still no release date in sight forWhen Fish Ride Bicycles. But they do have a new mixtape.

If you head over to the Cool Kids’ website, you can grab their new mixtape,Tacklebox, right now (that’s the quite-literal cover art above). The 15-track mixtape features an appearance from Bronx R&B singer and frequent Cool Kids collaborator Tennille, and was made in conjunction with the L.A.-based rap blog the Los Angeles Leakers (yes, you read that right).
